Hearts to Stitch and Sew

Last year I put together a round-up post of heart patterns that you could stitch and sew. Hearts just seem to be a popular motif and so I have an entire new round-up of free patterns that you might want to consider! These patterns cover the gambit of different sewing and stitching techniques, and go from very simple to the more substantial, so lets see what I have!

If you want something for your home that avoids the traditional red and pink, this pillow from Miss Lovie would be a great place to start.

Another decoration for your home, that still has a modern touch is the heart quilt from Quilting in the Rain.

And if you would like a simpler heart quilt block, then perhaps you would like to try this one from Dairy of a Quilter.

If you wish to sew for a child, here is an inspiration photo of a simple design that would be quick to do.

Or perhaps you would like to try your hand at this Heart Backpack from Sew Much Ado.

You could add a quick heart pocket to an existing jumper or top with this pocket tutorial from Pink Hollybush.

To make something for the older girl, consider this Sashiko Heart from Oliver and S.

If you enjoy handwork, then you might want to try this cross stitch pincushion from Purl Soho.

Or embroider this saying from Wild Olive.

You could also embroider this lovely Redwork Heart Kit from Pink Hollybush.

If you just need a quick gift for a friend, then one of these should certainly please: a heart bookmark from Sew Many Ways,

Heart Hand Warmers from Swoodson Says,

Or these woven fabric Scandinavian Hearts from We All Sew. I loved making these from paper when I was a kid!

I hope this solves your Valentine's Day gift giving dilemmas and you have fun sewing and stitching these lovely hearts!
