Fall is just around the corner. Pantone has released its fall color trends after analyzing both the New York and London runways, and the fashion magazines have predicted the upcoming fashion trends.

So what is hot for fall that can be translated into everyday wear that you might want to start sewing now? First up, everyone agrees the color for this fall is power red.
I love red, so I am happy to see this strong color making a comeback in fashion. Moody Florals are also popular.
Statement outwear is a strong trend, whether belted, with a fun sleeve, or with broader shoulders. Almost half of the new patterns that Simplicity released for this fall include an outer wear option.
Plaid is everywhere: on the runway,
and in the shops.
If sewing plaid makes you nervous, then check out this complete plaid matching guide by Sew It All TV. Ruffles, cold shoulders, bows and those statement sleeves are not disappearing this fall.
One fall trend I won't be following: statement footware!
So what are your sewing plans for fall?
