Favorites for the Beach

I tagged along with my husband to his conference and while he is sitting in meetings I am enjoying a day or two on the beach! So this blog post is a little different from my usual ones - it is what I packed in my beach bag and what came along with me for my two days on the beach! That is my view from the balcony and although there was some rain yesterday, today has been lovely!

So what did a pack in my beach bag and what Me Made items am I wearing when not in a bathing suit?

First up is a new smocking project on Teal Flowers double gauze. You can read about smocking on double gauze in this post.

My bag also includes two great books: Liturgy of the Ordinary by Tish Harrison Warren ( a recommendation from my oldest daughter) and The Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater: Essays on Crafting by Alanna Okun (a mother's day gift from my middle daughter) The writing of both is poetic and thoughtful.

Of course, there is also a knitting project - in this case the Sunnyside baby sweater. There is no designated recipient for this sweater - I am working on using up some of the lovely yarn in my stash and I have just enough of this lovely merino left for a baby sweater. The pattern is a free download from Tanis Fiber Arts.

Some me made creations made it into my suitcase if not my beach tote. Those include my City Stroll Skirt,

and my Bicycle Shirt (coming to the blog soon!)

I hope you are having a wonderful week and get some time to relax next on the beach or pool soon!
