Hi Everyone! I am again over on the Oliver + S blog today with another blouse that I made for my daughter. You may recall the Breezy Blouse that I made for my oldest daughter. Well, a mother can't sew for one daughter and not sew for the other! The Rush Hour top was wonderful to sew. The fit and finish are amazing. The pattern also includes a dress and if you need a fitted dress for your wardrobe, I highly recommend it! I chose to pipe all the edges to give the top a special finishing touch. You can get the details over at Oliver + S. The Rush Hour top includes a unique way of finishing the sleeveless armholes and it did take me a little while and a seam ripper to figure it out! So here is a helpful tip: when you pin the armhole together, if you can sew around the armhole in one continuous seam, you have pinned it incorrectly! In order to pin it correctly, first fold the seam allowances to the inside.
Reach in as instructed in the pattern and grasp the seam allowances pinching them together and then draw them out, keeping them pinched together.
Pin as the pattern directs.
You will find that as you sew towards the top of the sleeve that you can't keep going. I hope you give the Rush Hour top or dress a try - you will have a couture level garment once you have finished!
