Hemstitching the Weekend Getaway Blouse

Hemstitching the Weekend Getaway Blouse

Today I am over at the Oliver +S blog with a full tutorial on adding Hemstitching to the Weekend Getaway Blouse. As a member of the Liesl and Co. Advisor's Circle, I was given the choice of one of the new spring patterns to play around with. The Weekend Getaway Blouse has been one of Liesl and Co.'s most popular patterns since its release in pdf format. This spring it was released as a pattern pattern. For me one of the most rewarding and challenging aspects of sewing is adding that little detail that puts a creation over the top - that little item that makes it one of kind, shows it isn't something you picked up at the store, and puts your personal stamp and style on the piece that you made. Adding an heirloom detail such as hemstitching to this blouse is just such a detail.

Linen has always been one of my favorite fabrics to work with yet it hasn't been seen in ready to wear much these past few years. I am happy to see that it is making a comeback this summer!
