Fall Sewing: The Midi Skirt



For the past year or so, fashion magazines have predicted that the skirt length is going lower and the midi is coming back. This fall we are seeing it actually happen from the runway...


to shops like Anthropologie (notice the florals) and


and JCrew. (Notice that it's a shirt dress!)


The skirts are full, flowing and long! This is a trend that you can easily sew for this fall! The pattern companies have responded and have put out lots of options for longer skirts. Here are some to try:



(Simplicity also introduced a ton of vintage patterns this fall, all of which have longer skirts)
