The Flower Girl Dress and Ring Bearer Vest

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer

This is our adorable flower girl and ring bearer from my daughter's wedding! They did a wonderful job. The flower girl made sure to toss all of her petals (overhand), and the ring bearer considered it his job to stomp on them as they went up the aisle!

I loved sewing their outfits. The flower girl dress is a basic square yoke with the collar simply piped. The sleeve is a slightly gathered cap sleeve. If you have access to Pascale by Martha Pullen, that is the sleeve pattern I used, or you can draft your own using The Building Block Dress Book. The dress is made from forest green pima cotton sateen that I purchased from NY Elegant Fabrics. They have every color imaginable! I was glad I went into NY to purchase the fabric, because believe it or not, finding the right green was somewhat difficult. So many dark greens had a lot of blue in them. This fabric was wonderful to work with and I will be using more pima sateen in the future! The smocking pattern is free pattern from Martha Pullen that I smocked in a light green floss.

The Ring Bearer wore a vest and bow tie made using McCalls 7223 and the same pima cotton sateen.

I am so glad that our flower girl and ring bearer walked down aisle. They helped make a very special day even more special, and thank you to Audrey Cutler Photography for capturing it all so beautifully!
